Russell waterfront Bay of Islands
Summer has arrived in the Bay of Islands.
There are so many fabulous events planned for the summer in the Bay of Islands from Christmas parades and New Year’s Eve celebrations to yacht racing, gourmet food, vineyards and live entertainment. The Duke of Marlborough Hotel on the waterfront in Russell has a great line up planned. Details on the music plus all of the other great events they have planned can be found via The Duke.

Bay of Islands fresh foodFood and wine
Bay of Islands Farmers Markets – The produce has changed to delicious summer fruits – get a fresh taste of the latest local produce from The Bay of Islands at the Farmers Markets in Paihia and Kerikeri.

Food at Wharepuke – the award-winning Kerikeri café restaurant is holding a range of events throughout summer including Jazz in the Garden on the first Sunday of every month.

Ipipiri Gallery in Paihia is showcasing more talented Northland artists to 5 January, 2013 – Visit Ipipiri Art for more information.

Movies – Head to Russell Cinema, Kerikeri’s cinema and pack a picnic to watch classic movies like ‘Cool Runnings’ outdoors at Russell’s Duke Tavern.

Sailing
The Russell Boating Club Tall Ships Race is the must-do event of January. The celebration after the race is held at the Boating Club and includes the legendary hangi.

Bay of Islands Sailing Week registration is on 22 January 2013 for the subsequent three days of racing.
