Long Beach May 2015Winter is nearly here and what a great way to welcome in the change of season with a visit to the Bay of Islands for the upcoming Long Weekend.  With luxurious accommodation, award-winning restaurants and breathtaking scenery, the Bay of Islands is a fabulous destination at any time of the year.

Whether you are in the mood for a leisurely lunch, some sailing, fishing, dolphin spotting on the waterways or to warm up with some exercise, there are some great activities and events from which to choose.

Fitness Fun – Explore Paihia 1/2 Marathon is on 31st May, 2015. What a magical course for a walk or run.  There is a 12km level of entry for those wanting a shorter course or go for the 21km.
If you prefer to stroll with a golf club in hand, it’s a superb time of year to experience the golf courses in the region including Bay of Islands Golf Course at Kerikeri, Whangaroa, Waitangi Golf Course or Kauri Cliffs.

MusicThe Royal Bash will see various talented performers take to the stage on the Village Green in Paihia, this Saturday 30th May.

Spa – Book ahead for a relaxing treatment at Flagstaff Lodge and Day Spa or Living Nature.

Gourmet – Sample and savour local fare at The Old Packhouse Market in Kerikeri.  This is one time you will want to go shopping on an empty stomach so as to have room to enjoy the fresh, baked and homemade produce.
For a warming sundowner, why not sit by the fire at The Duke of Marlborough or watch the sunset from The Gables. If winter has you thinking of a good hot curry, eat in or takeaway at the Spice Route in Russell or select from the blackboard specials at Wharepuke in Kerikeri.
The Bay of Islands winery trail will surprise with quality wine and spectacular scenery.
Stop at the roadside stalls for fresh mandarins, lemons and limes at this time of year.  Two of New Zealand’s finest chocolate producers are conveniently located in The Bay with Newport Chocolates in Russell and Matakana in Kerikeri.

If I can assist with your property requirements over the weekend, please feel free to call me on 0212 444 888.
